| This week on Thursday, I had the honor of speaking at a major press conference at New York City’s Stuyvesant High School, which stands in the shadow of the former World Trade Center. Our goal was to let the public know that former students, teachers, local residents, and office workers are developing 9/11-related illnesses at the same alarming rates as the first responders. |

| At least 12 former students who attended schools south of Canal Street on 9/11, or during the eight months that followed, have filed claims with the federal government for World Trade Center-related cancers. Dozens of others have been diagnosed with well-recognized 9/11 respiratory illnesses. Scores of teachers have fallen ill, and, tragically, many have died from their WTC illnesses. |
